Chris started his LAST, I REPEAT LAST, semester of school on Monday so this past weekend we decided to make a quick camping trip out of his last few days of freedom before the nightmare of this semester began. The reason it is a nightmare is it is not a normal semester they are cramming a 12 week course into 6 weeks, and if that isn't bad enough, it's MATH! Yucky!! ;-)
We decided to go to a camp park that has been closed for about 2 years for renovations. Buckeye is just on the Colorado/Utah border and was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, they did an amazing job! Although, we got skunked fishing. I think all 3 of us caught a total of maybe 10 fish in 3 days. Really slow!!

We probably saw in total 50 cow elk and I think 2 or 3 bull elks. Amazingly gorgeous animals!
So Chris and I have goals every year of what animals we want to see before the seasons over, since the season had just started and we had already seen deer and elk this trip we decided we wanted to see a bear!! We saw one for a split second last year but not long enough to take a picture.
We were out driving one evening looking for animals and noticed there was a doe on the side of the road staring VERY intently across the street, she didn't care at all that we were there so we look across the street and see this thing running across the ground (thought it was a coyote at first). Chris looks through the binoculars and says, "It's a BEAR!" I was SO excited I jumped out of the truck without thinking and Chris and Curt followed right behind me!
If you look in the middle of this picture there is a tree and a dark spot to the right of the tree starting to climb it.
We then walked up a little closer and couldn't really see him until we moved to the other side of the tree. It still isn't the best of pictures but we didn't want to disturb/scare him anymore than I'm sure we had already so we decided to turn and go back to the truck! I had a perm-a-grin!
As much as I LOVE Kyra, when she goes through her shedding process, which is twice a year, I want to get rid of her for the time being. This is Chris trying to brush what we could out of her and my whole house has big clumps of hair in it that we are picking up/vacuuming every day. It's the sucky part of owning a husky but I wouldn't trade her for the world!
My little Mountain Lion! Hanging out while we fish!
Cirrus gets SO annoyed every time we cast because she tries to go and fetch the lures thinking it's her ball. She gets SO frustrated with us when we don't let her! :)
Chris and one of the few fish we did catch. Although the few that we did catch were pretty thick and nice sized.
My handsome outdoorsman!
I got the first RINGER! Even with my super sore hip I managed to pull this off!
Campfire Banana Boat Smores (didn't turn out how Pinterest said they would)
